  2. Do you keep any archives? My father Jose R. Ragasa was a writer for Bannaway starting the early 1960′s. I have some copies of his work, and I am trying to complete my collection. I was wondering if you have any archived stories of his. I am looking for one in particular published around 1990-1993, the last article of his published in Bannaway before his death in July of 1993.

    Hoping for your reply,

  4. I would like to ask you if you could sell back issues of Bannawag. As a child I loved reading “Lang-Ay anak ni Lam-Ang”. This was followed by “Nal-Buan”. This prompted me to read “Biag ni Lam-Ang”.

I learned Ilocano as a child from when I was 10 to 12 years of age. I lived in Gonzaga, Cagayan with my grandparents (father side) and had fond memories of those 3 years. I call it my Ilocano upbringing.

Today, around 30 years later, I look back at those years and remember how I loved the stories of Bannawag. I do not remember the author nor the artist. I do remember Greg Laconsay as my “Papang” (Lilong ko) use to read his articles a lot and was a huge fan.
Going back to the Lam-Ang series, I have 2 major reasons, 1. I could barely speak and read my Dad’s dialect and would love to renew this. Am sure it would not take long 2) and more importantly I would like to share this story of the Lam-ang series to my children. I dare say that it is our “Lord of the Rings”.
Could you please tell me if there is a possibity of getting hold of the complete comics?
Thank you very much, my email is anditso@gmail.com
    Greatfull for your response.
Lastly I apologize as I should communicate in Ilocano but I have not used the dialect since I moved to Europe.
    Best Regards
    Anditso

  5. Dear Sir:
I just published an Ilocano autobiography of my great Grandfather, Don Sabas Gaerlan. He was born in Tagudin in 1854. From the age of 12 he maintained his journals until 1916. All in all I was able to transcribe it into a 200 page book including an English translation. He wrote his journals in Ilocano. It’s available at auhtorhouse.com and the title is “Casuratan ti Biagco:Sinurat ni Don Sabas Gaerlan”. It is an important piece of document detailing a lot of historical facts not to mention an entertaining story of his life. I am interested in serializing the book in your magazine. It may need some editorial work though before it can be publish in your magazine. In this regard, can you suggest a name and contact of a person I can oollaborate with in order to have this accomplished?

    Sincerely
    Jane Guerrero-Malkin

  11. May I ask if you have an archive of articles written as early as 1960? Thank you

  12. Unfortunately, the archiving technology as we now know it arrive much later than the 60s.
